Social Security

Termination of an at will employee is wrongful if said termination was in clear violation of a public policy. The Ohio Supreme Court holds that the public policy can be based on statute, regulation or common law.

Disability rights range from direct and indirect forms of employment and housing discrimination, to Social Security and private Long Term Disability rights, to accommodation rights under employment or housing statutes.

Personal Injury

The most common form of personal injury case is an automobile accident. Insurance coverage is mandatory in Ohio; thusly, if the other driver is at fault, procedures exist to gain compensation for an injured victim.

Fair Housing

The Fair Housing Act prohibits a person from refusing to negotiate for the sale or rental of an apartment or house, or to otherwise make a housing unit unavailable because of race, disability, gender, national origin, or familial status.

Discrimination

Discrimination cases include age, race, gender, disability, and national origin claims. The employment statute in Ohio parallels a federal statute; it holds that "It shall be an unlawful discriminatory practice for any employer.
